A bottle of L’Aromarine Thé-Tea perfume can be seen on Hiroshi’s dressing table. Not beauty-related, but on the same table you can also see a vintage tin box of the Italian candy Pastiglie Leone.
Jem and the Holograms (2015)
The film is not out yet, but there are a couple of interesting make-up moments in the trailer. In the first, the protagonist (Aubrey Peeples) starts experimenting with hot pink on her face, using a Chanel cream blush.

The second scene is set in the protagonist’s dressing room, and sees her in a moment of rage. Among the products she throws away from the table, we can see a row of Wet n Wild Megalast nail polishes and Bumble and bumble tonic lotion.

Marc Almond’s Dressing Rooms (2015)
I’ve got a soft spot for Marc Almond as an artist, but I love his habit of posting pictures of his dressing rooms, too. The one above was taken on July 26th, 2015 at the Sands Centre in Carlisle (Cumbria), where Marc performed with the Jools Holland Band.

On the table I can see some items I spotted last May (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and Dior Cannage compact), plus some additions. The bottle on the shelf is Night Scented Jasmine by Floris, a fragrance with a citrusy opening, floral heart (gardenia, iris, jasmine, lily, mimosa, narcissus, rose and ylang ylang) and a musky base. Thanks to Marc himself for letting me know about the perfume.

The picture above was taken yesterday at the Dublin National Concert Hall. There’s the Dior Cannage compact again, plus several MAC pencils and foundation sponge (in the black plastic bag in front of the mirror), Becca Ever-Matte poreless priming perfector and a couple of ecoTools make-up brushes. The 16-pan palette is Kryolan Dermacolor Camouflage Creme.
Thanks to my reader Jessica for the Kryolan id.
Scream S01E01 (Pilot)
This conversation between Noah Foster (John Karna) and Riley Marra (Brianne Tju) uses the word “musk”as a pun. Noah tells the girl about a possible internship at the space technology company SpaceX, founded in 2002 by Elon Musk. She perfectly knows who Musk is, but plays the dumb card commenting that she loves perfumes.
Take Shelter (2011)

There are two Alba Botanica hair products in Curtis’ shower – Natural Hawaiian shampoo and conditioner in Gloss Boss Honeydew.
Thanks to my reader Hannah for pointing this out to me, and thanks to Marc at Consumption Blog for giving me the permission to use his id.

Orange is the New Black S03E05 (Fake It Till You Fake It Some More)
Galina Reznikov’s nickname is Red, not without a reason: red hair, fingernails and lipsticks are her trademarks. Despite living in a prison, she uses a luxury lipstick, which happens to be from the Noir collection by Julie Hewett. Two are the possible shade options.
This is Femme Noir, a classic blue-based 30s scarlet red. It was worn by Lily Rabe as Sister Mary Eunice in American Horror Story: Asylum.
This is Rouge Noir, a 40s-inspired true movie-star red. Even if the two colours are quite similar, I think Femme Noir is the best guess, since it’s cooler and bluer than Rouge Noir.
Scream S01E04 (Aftermath)
There is a hilarious conversation in this episode: it comes at a tragic moment (one of the protagonists has been killed) but Brooke Maddox (Carlson Young), the spoiled brat of the bunch, is able to relieve it. She calls Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) asking to help her choose “funeral nail polish”.
Both options are by OPI: the first shade she mentions is Titanium (shimmery dark silver, from the fall 2014 Designer Series collection), while the second is Black Onyx (classic black from the core collection).
The girl finally opts for Black Onyx, commenting that her friend would approve. Who knows? Maybe she’s right. Too bad we will never know.
Amy Winehouse’s Make-Up Case

Thick eyeliner flicks were among her most notable trademarks. She probably experimented with several products, but in the picture above she was using Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner.
I love this picture, where Amy was shopping for nail polishes at a drugstore. She selected a couple of red shades from the Mavala display. The tiny bottles and the wide colour selection make the Swiss brand one of my favourites.
The connection between Amy and Chanel became clear when Karl Lagerfeld sent his models sporting thick eyeliner and beehives on the runway of the Métiers d’Art pre-fall 2008 collection. Amy had her own unique style but she liked Chanel bags and make-up. In the picture above, she was putting on some Chanel lipstick in a bright pink shade.

In a photoshoot she did with Elina Kechicheva for Jalouse on January 25th, 2008, she was holding a Chanel black compact containing Double Perfection Lumière foundation and a Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres lip pencil in a pink nude shade.
