Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) is a character from Season 1 whose return in Season 8 has been much awaited and anticipated. She was “born to be a mother”, as shown by her decision to commit suicide in the Murder House, so as to spend eternity with her beloved children (who already live in the house). She gives lots of importance to appearances and to her own look, so it’s not surprising that she re-applies her lipstick before dying. The shade she’s using is a nude beige, reminiscent of the 1960s/1970s (decades in which she was young and desirable).
The gold tube is visible on a coffee table in the living room where her nephew Michael (Cody Fern) finds her lifeless. It’s a lipstick by Julie Hewett. The exact shade is hard to identify: it could be Annette, Biba, Simone or Odessa.
Galina Reznikov’s nickname is Red, not without a reason: red hair, fingernails and lipsticks are her trademarks. Despite living in a prison, she uses a luxury lipstick, which happens to be from the Noir collection by Julie Hewett. Two are the possible shade options.
This is Femme Noir, a classic blue-based 30s scarlet red. It was worn by Lily Rabe as Sister Mary Eunice in American Horror Story: Asylum.
This is Rouge Noir, a 40s-inspired true movie-star red. Even if the two colours are quite similar, I think Femme Noir is the best guess, since it’s cooler and bluer than Rouge Noir.

There’s an interesting behind-the-scene story about this lipstick. Its shade – Ravish Me Red – is a real colour by Revlon, but the show’s make-up artist Eryn Krueger Mekash explained they actually used a Julie Hewett lipstick on Lily, aptly called Femme Noir, a gorgeous blue-based 30s scarlet red.
