There are several beauty products on Riggan Thomson’s dressing table – a Dove Men+Care shave gel and a MAC lip conditioner.

mehronjar_bornunicornThe black plastic jar where he keeps his combs is from another Mehron product. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find an exact picture of it, but I do believe it’s the Charred Ash powder.

Thanks to my friend Jennifer for the MAC lip conditioner id.

Carol (2015)

carol_bornunicorn (1)There are lots of make-up products on the coffee table in Carol Aird’s living room, most of which are vintage pieces.

dubarry_bornunicorn dubarry1_bornunicornThe item that caught my attention is the oval red box with white lid. This is the Du Barry face powder, produced by Richard Hudnut, an American businessman who first achieved international success in cosmetics manufacturing. This face powder was named after Jeanne Bécu, comtesse du Barry, the last Maîtresse-en-titre of Louis XV of France and one of the victims of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. It’s unclear which version of the powder appears in the film – the lid is not clearly visible – but I think it’s the first.

Pusher (1996)

pusher_bornunicorn (4)Frank (Kim Bodnia) and Tonny (Mads Mikkelsen) take a trip to Matas, a local drugstore. Lots of personal care/beauty products can be seen. Matas products, with the trademark striped packaging, are on the shelves of a whole aisle.

lorealstudioline_bornunicornA staple of 1990s hair-styling – L’Oreal Studio Line hair products, with the lovely white, yellow, black, red and blue packaging – can be seen, too.

l'orealelvive_bornunicornAnother classic drugstore line – L’Oreal Elvive haircare – can be spotted on the shelves.

pusher_bornunicorn (9)Clearasil acne and marks treatment line has its place on the shelves, too.

rimmelchicogo_bornunicornApparently, Chicogo was the brand name with which Rimmel marketed its products in Germany and other Northern European country. The counter in the drugstore visited by Frank and Tonny has got lipsticks and nail polishes.

The Age of Adaline (2015)

lorealinfalliblelipstick_bornunicorn

lorealcolorrichelipstick_bornunicornThere are two L’Oreal lipsticks on the dressing table of Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively). The one with the silver case, on the left, is Infallible Le Rouge, while the other is the classic Color Riche.

loreal_revitaliftintensiveovernightmask_bornunicorn loreal_revitaliftmagicblur_bornunicornThe red jar on the table is another L’Oreal product. I do believe it’s part of the Revitalift anti-age line. It could be the intensive overnight mask or Magic Blur.

What Women Want (2000)

whatwomenwant_bornunicorn (12)One of the most important moments of the film is the introduction of the “pink box”, a box containing beauty and personal care products that women usually use. Darcy McGuire (Helen Hunt) is a newly-appointed manager at the Chicago advertising company where the film is set: she presents her staff with pink boxes to stir their curiosity and encourage their creativity.

vidalsassoonfoam_bornunicornThe box contains Vidal Sassoon hair mousse.

Nick Marshall (Mel Gibson) is a chauvinist avertising executive who doesn’t like Darcy and her attitude. He is very skeptical when it comes to the pink box, but he ends up with trying every product in it; among them, Maybelline Great Lash mascara.

Jeune & jolie (2013)

jeuneetjolie_bornunicornThere are many products on Isabelle’s bathroom shelf: all of them are French.

sanoflore-essence-merveilleuse_bornunicornThe blue bottle on the left is Sanoflore Essence Merveilleuse, a regenerating anti-age night concentrate.

larocheposay_unifiancefoundation_bornunicornThere’s La Roche-Posay Unifiance shine-free foundation.

nuxe_huileprodigieuseseche_bornunicornOne of the most popular French beauty products is Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. Isabelle uses the sèche version, suitable on face, body and hair.
nominoe_oil_bornunicorn

There’s a bottle of Nominoë body oil.

chloeperfume_bornunicornThe perfume of choice is Chloé, a floral fragrance created by Amandine Marie and Michel Almairac and launched in 2008. Behind the perfume bottle there’s another Nuxe product in a small tube, but I haven’t been able to identify it. Judging from its content, it could be a travel-size tube or a sample of a product from the Rêve de Miel line.
nominoe_facecleanser_bornunicornLast but not least, another Nominoë product – a gentle foam face cleanser.

Thanks to Mari for the Sanoflore id.
