Robert gives Vera Chanel skincare and make-up products. She keeps some eye pencils only, which she will use to write on the walls. The skincare products are from the Précision line and include Gel Pureté, Lotion Douceur and Démaquillant Yeux Intense make-up remover.
The make-up items are Teint Innocence liquid foundation, Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in the shade Excés #60 and several lip and eye pencils.
There’s a lipstick, too – the classic Rouge Coco.
In the opening scene, Boy George (Douglas Booth) is putting on a red lipstick, which happens to be by Clarins. Unfortunately, the whole tube is not visible, so it’s hard to tell if it’s a vintage piece.
There’s a box of Coty Airspun face powder on Su Li-zhen’s dressing table.
Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton) is putting her make-up on just before hitting the stage. Her frosted lipstick is by MAC.
On her dressing table some MAC boxes can be seen, along with a bottle of Själ Balans deep-pore cleanser.
The protagonists’ reclusion starts with their grandmother banning “anything likely to pervent” them, including a tube of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express mascara.
The dressing table of Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) is very busy. I’ve spotted several Bed Head by TIGI products – Recharge shampoo in the hot pink bottle, Clean Up daily shampoo and In Check curl-defining cream (both from the Bed Head For Men line), plus MAC Face and Body foundation and a jar of Pond’s cold cream.
The iconic Christian Dior houndstooth perfume bottle appears on Martha’s hotel bathroom shelf while she’s in Rome with her father. The front label is not visible, so it’s impossible to tell what fragrance she wore.
We should add Diorella to my list of “suspects”, since the floral-chypre perfume created by Edmond Roudnitska was launched in 1970.

Betty (Carme Elias) is about to put her make-up on when her friend Leo (Marisa Paredes) pays her a visit. She takes two Chanel compacts out of her make-up pouch. One is a pressed face powder, the other is a blush.
