Otherhood (2019)
The scene where Carol (Angela Bassett) gets a drastic hair make-over thanks to Erin (Heidi Gardner) takes place at a real NYC’s Lower East Side salon, the Fringe. So it’s quite obvious to see the salon’s own haircare line (Fringe & Friends, launched in 2007) on display, along with the ubiquitous Mason & Pearson brush.
Hairspray (1988)
All the dancers of the Corny Collins Show, a popular Baltimore teenage dance show, use tons of hairspray to keep their hairdos fluffy and bouffant. Their product of choice is Rayette Aqua Net.
Dumplin’ (2018)
Will (Danielle MacDonald) is at loss after her aunt Lucy’s death and goes to one of her favourite places – a Dolly Parton-themed drag biker bar – to seek solace and inspiration. She would like to take part into the Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant but she has doubts and doesn’t know what to do. She’ll find a mentor in Lee Wayne (Harold Perrineau), who performs as Rhea Ranged. Lee’s dressing room is a magical place where Will and her friends Hannah and Millie will learn about beauty and confidence.
There are many products on Lee’s dressing table, among which a bottle of ColorWOW Speed Dry heat-protectant blow-dry spray.
There’s also a small jar of Ben Nye translucent powder.

While Will (Danielle MacDonald) is getting ready for the Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant, we can take a look at her dressing table.
There’s a can of Luster’s Pink Sheen hairspray
Ben Nye loose face powder in a light shade. It could even be the Neutral Set colorless powder

Rosie Dickson (Jennifer Aniston) is a former beauty queen who’s still in the beauty pageant circuit: she’s a judge at the annual Miss Teen Bluebonnet Pageant. Her looks are extremely important and we can see it from the number of toiletries and beauty products sitting on her dressing table. Her elaborate updo, for example, needs support, and her product of choice is Pantene Pro-V extra strong hold hairspray.
We can also see an Essie nail polish in a pale pink shade and a tin bottle of Taylor of London Calming Lavender luxury talcum powder.
Gloria Bell (2018)
While Gloria (Julianne Moore) is doing the laundry in the washbasin, we can see some products she has in her bathroom. There’s the facial massager Foreo Luna Mini 2 in Mint.
There are also three haircare products by Hask. The tall peach spray can is Monoi Coconut dry shampoo.
There’s Keratin Protein flash blow-dry spray.
And Hawaiian Sea Salt Makin’ Waves texture spray.
Aus dem Nichts (2017)
Nadja has got several toiletries and perfume bottles on her vanity. Some bottles look decorative, but other items are real make-up and personal care products.
The plastic tube, for example, is Alessandro Hands!Up lifting hand cream.
The round Chanel bottle is the now-discontinued liquid foundation Teint Innocence.
The glass spray bottle in the back is L’Occitane Fabulous Oil for body and hair.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)
There are several hair products on Rick Dalton’s dressing table.
There’s a can of Rayette AquaNet hairspray.
There are two bottles of hair tonic – Wildroot VAM and Vitalis V7.
There’s also a Barbicide disinfectant jar.
Last, there’s a jar of Ayer hand cream.
Carne trémula (1997)
Clara (Angela Molina) is finally leaving her abusive husband Sancho, so she’s quickly packing some toiletries. In her bathroom there are many beauty products.
On the glass shelf there are two Shiseido Benefiance products – a toner and a cleansing milk.
There’s also L’Oreal Elnett Satin hairspray, which has an important function in this scene.
In classic Almodóvar style, Chanel products make their appearance. In this case, there are a compact and a bottle of bi-phase make-up remover (or toner). There’s also a black box with gold band I haven’t been able to identify. It may be related to No. 5, but I have no idea what it can be.
Under the glass shelf there’s a cardboard bottle of Ausonia talc.
Next to the Chanel make-up remover there’s Guerlain Champs Elysées in a beautiful gold bottle designed by Robert Granai. The perfume, created by Jacques and Jean-Paul Guerlain, was launched in 1996.
But Champs Elysées is not the only Guerlain item in Clara’s bathroom. On the top glass shelf there’s a round gold box containing Météorites face powder pearls.
