The American actress and singer Lena Hall published this picture on her Instagram account. She was dressed as Yitzhak, one of the protagonists of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She had this role in the musical’s revival on Broadway, thanks to which she won a Tony Award as Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 2014. In the picture she was holding a NARS lipstick and in the caption she mused: “Trying not to get caught by Hedwig!”. Now the point is: Schiap or Funny Face? What is the exact shade of that lipstick? It looks more the wonderfully fun fuchsia than the shocking matte pink inspired to Elsa Schiaparelli. What’s your guess?

Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001)
There’s a cute teddy bear bottle of hot pink nail polish on a shelf in Hedwig’s trailer. You can see it in the number Wig in a Box.
It’s a Fing’rs nail polish from the late 1990s/early 2000s. Such a playful shape has a deeper meaning in the film: the bear is the symbol of Berlin, the city where Hedwig comes from; furthermore, gummy bears (teddy bear-shaped fruit gum candy) are among Hedwig’s favourite sweets, as shown in the scene where she first meets Luther.

There’s a jar of Vaseline petroleum jelly in Hedwig’s trailer. You can first see it in the Wig in a Box number.
It can also be seen later in the movie, when Tommy (Michael Pitt) meets Hedwig (John Cameron Mitchell) in her trailer.
