I May Destroy You S01E12 (Ego Death)

Arabella (Michaela Coel) and her friend Terry are back to Ego Death, the London bar where the protagonist’s story starts. The scene above is set in the bar toilet; right behind Arabella there’s a table with some perfume bottles on it. Unfortunately there’s not a clear shot of it, because it would have been interesting to see what perfumes were selected and made available to the customers for a quick spraying.

Two bottles (the first and second from the left) can be identified, though. The first is Dior Fahrenheit, the creation by Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Michel Almairac that has become a unisex favourite since its launch in 1988. The second is Alien by Thierry Mugler, a white floral (jasmine!) perfume created by Laurent Bruyère and Dominique Ropion and launched in 2005.

Lena Hall’s Dressing Room (2014)

The American actress and singer Lena Hall published this picture on her Instagram account. She was dressed as Yitzhak, one of the protagonists of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She had this role in the musical’s revival on Broadway, thanks to which she won a Tony Award as Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 2014. In the picture she was holding a bottle of Dior Fahrenheit and in the caption she mused: “Want to know Yitzhak smell?”. I don’t know if she really wore the perfume on stage, but the iconic woody Dior perfume would have been perfect for her character.

La femme Nikita (1990)

bourjoispots_bornunicornChristian Dior Fahrenheit and Guy Laroche Fidji perfumes, Christian Dior lipstick and compacts, Bourjois eyeshadow and blush pots on Nikita’s (Anne Parillaud) dressing table.

I think the nail polish bottles on the left are by Maybelline: I remember they had a similar packaging in the 1990s.

Sex and the City 2 (2010)

On the bottom shelf there’s a C.O. Bigelow lemon body cleanser.
