There are some bottles of Aesop hand wash in the bathroom where Milla (Marissa Anita) first discovers a scary yet mysterious rash on her neck, which she scratches until she draws blood.

Milla’s walk-in closet is an elegant room where she creates her public persona of devoted wife and mother with the help of luxurious clothes, jewellery and accessories.

The selection of fragrances on her vanity probably doesn’t say much about her as a person, but is absolutely in line with the image she’s projecting and with her family’s expectations. One of the fragrances is Yves Saint Laurent Libre, a white floral eau de parfum created by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm, and launched in 2019.

Chanel No. 5 is an almost mandatory choice: the legendary floral aldehyde eau de parfum originally created by Ernest Beaux and launched in 1921, symbolises class and refinement.

Half-hidden in the back of the vanity, there’s also a bottle of Jo Malone cologne.

Another mainstream fragrance that Milla uses is Dior J’Adore, a white floral fragrance by Calice Becker launched in 1999.

This documentary gives an interesting look at the stellar career of Liza Minnelli, an artist who has performed on stage basically all her life. The scene above is taken from backstage footage from the 1970s. Among several make-up items it’s impossible not to notice the tall striped bottle on the right side of her dressing table.

It’s the unmistakable aluminium canister of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, the floral aldehyde fragrance created by Michel Hy in 1971 and named after the left bank of the river Seine in Paris, where the first YSL boutique was located. This fragrance definitely appealed to Liza Minnelli’s independent and free spirit.

The round object on the right side of the table is Personna Flicker shaver.

There are two interesting bottles in Danica’s bathroom.

One of them is Marc Jacobs Daisy, a white floral fragrance by Alberto Morillas launched in 2007.

The other is a classic from the 1990s – L’Eau d’Issey by Issey Miyake. This floral aquatic fragrance was created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and launched in 1992.

Devon (Meghann Fahy) and her father Bruce (Billy Camp) are getting ready to attend Kiki’s gala. In the room where a tailor is fitting Bruce’s suit there are the same bottles seen on Devon’s vanity.

The blush pink bottle sitting on the table on the left is Givenchy Irresistible, a musky rose fragrance by Fanny Bal, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, launched in 2020.

On the table on the right there’s L’Interdit eau de parfum, a white floral creation by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal, launched in 2018.

Right in front of it there’s Givenchy L’Interdit eau de parfum rouge, launched in 2021.

Last, a Caron fragrance in the trademark ring round bottle. The front label cannot be read, though, so we don’t know what fragrance it contains.

The scene where Simone (Milly Alcock) and Ethan (Glenn Howerton) are having a private conversation features a dressing table, which unfortunately is always kept slightly off focus. Most of the objects on it are not identifiable, but one: the lovely bottle of Bond No. 9 New York Flowers.

This is a floral fruity fragrance launched in 2023.

When Devon (Meghann Fahy) realises that surrendering to Kiki’s influence is the best she can do to help her own sister Simone (Kiki’s personal assistant), she’s up for a wild ride. The over-controlling billionaire decides what clothes and accessories Devon will wear while staying at the Cliff House, and packs a dressing table with fragrances, cosmetics and skincare, too. Nothing is actually in tune with Devon’s style and personality, but that is not the point: once one enters Kiki’s orbit, they have to passively accept her choices and decisions.
From left to right, here’s what I can see on the table.

The blush pink bottle is Givenchy Irresistible, a musky rose fragrance by Fanny Bal, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, launched in 2020.

Next, there’s a Caron fragrance in the trademark ring round bottle. The front label cannot be read, though, so we don’t know what fragrance it contains.

It’s unclear whether Givenchy is Kiki’s brand of choice for fragrances, but she surely loves it for her guests. Half hidden among several bottles there’s L’Interdit eau de parfum [1], a white floral creation by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal, launched in 2018.

There’s also the Rouge version of the aforementioned eau de parfum. This was launched in 2021.

On the right side of the table there are several skincare products. Among them, the eye and expression cream Genaissance de la Mer™ (in the jar) and a bottle of La Mer The Essential Tonic.

Even though the screencap above is blurry, it clearly shows the presence of three Givenchy jars containing loose powder.

The small one on the left is Blush Prisme Libre in Mousseline Lilas.

Just below there’s a jar of Prisme Libre loose powder in Mousseline Acidulée.

On the far right side of the table there’s another jar of Prisme Libre loose powder in Organza Ambré.
[1] The original L’Interdit is a floral aldehyde fragrance by Francis Fabron launched in 1957. It was created in 1956 for Audrey Hepburn, who initially opposed Hubert de Givenchy’s decision to market it; when she finally lifted her ban, the designer named it after her forbidding. As a matter of fact, the French word “interdit” means “forbidden” in English.

The claim in the 1957 advert perfectly sums up its origin.

Just before taking part in the 24 Hours of Daytona race, racing driver Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) performs a well-established routine which includes dunking his face in ice water. By the sink in his van we can see a bottle of Dr. Bronner’s peppermint liquid soap.

Kiki (Julianne Moore) is anxiously waiting for her husband to be back from a business trip. She’s wearing a gorgeous night set and a lip balm in an antique rose shade.

It’s a balm by Olio e Osso. This is a favourite product by the American actress: it can be seen in May December by Todd Haynes and was featured in a make-up guide she filmed for Vogue US in 2023.
