The latest Kesha video is a fun one. The American singer plays a televangelist à la Dolly Parton, who’s unfortunately trapped into an abusive marriage with a horrible husband who doesn’t care about her and beats her up all the time. But she’ll soon know how to take her revenge on him. In the video, directed by Luke Gilford, there are two interesting scenes featuring beauty products.
In the screencap above, Kesha is in her dressing room; on her vanity there’s a can of L’Oreal Elnett Satin extra-strong hold hairspray.
But the most interesting moment is set in her house, where we can get a good look at her vanity.
The white fluted refillable atomiser is the super-romantic L’air du temps by Nina Ricci.
There’s also the eau de toilette version of Pasha de Cartier, a fresh spicy men’s fragrance created by Jacques Cavallier and launched in 1992. I like to think the televangelist – not her husband – wears it.
Such an eclectic perfume selection wouldn’t be such without a blast of white flowers! So here is Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt, the 1980s best seller created by Sophia Grojsman.
Another nod to the past is the aqua green tube of Clinique lipstick, a packaging now sadly discontinued.
Thanks to Marco Ortolano for telling me about this video and for the Vanderbilt id.

There’s a pump bottle of Aesop Resurrection Aromatique hand wash in Peter’s bathroom.

There are several toiletries in the bathroom cabinet in Daisy’s apartment: they all belong to her dad. Among them, Andrew Jergens Martinique after-shave lotion and matching deodorant and Mennen Protein 29 conditioning hair groom.
In the second movie of the original trilogy, the Griswolds win a trip to Europe. Before leaving for London, Clark takes a video of his wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo) doing a dancing routine. The scene is set in their bathroom, so some beauty products and toiletries can be seen.
On the marble counter behind Ellen there’s a pump tube of Colgate toothpaste.
There’s also a bottle of Oil of Olay moisturizer.
From another angle, we can see a bottle of Johnson and Johnson’s baby powder.
Next to it, there’s a big jar of Nivea creme.

There three small bottles of Kiehl’s lotion (including Creme de Corps) in Chiara’s bedroom.

There’s also a jar of Lush Snow Fairy body conditioner.

Chiara (Benedetta Porcaroli) finds a lipstick on her bedroom floor. It slips from Damiano’s pocket, but it belongs to Natalia. It’s Dior Rouge Dior Ultra Care.

Ludovica (Alice Pagani) is putting on Burt’s Bees beeswax lip balm.
When Michaela (Aja Naomi King) realises her father is Solomon Vick, she goes to New York to meet him. She attends one of his conferences and aggressively asks him personal questions. Later, she intrudes into his hotel room and goes through his items.

In the bathroom there are two perfume bottles: one is John Varvatos Artisan, a creation by John Varvatos and Rodrigo Flores-Roux launched in 2009; the other is Dana Canoe, a Jean Carles creation first launched in 1936 as a fresh perfume for women and marketed as men’s cologne since the 1960s.
Michaela doesn’t resist and smells the Varvatos perfume. You may remember it made an appearance in the second season of the show, in Mike’s bedroom.
