As the embodiment of the aesthetic movement, of the idea of art for art’s sake, it’s the character created by Oscar Wilde who sings one of the most interesting odes to fragrances and to the state of mind/attitude they are able to evoke.

How awesome is this? I’ve spotted Guerlain La petite robe noire perfume, L’Oreal Elnett Satin hairspray and Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or on the dressing table of the great Italian actress Adriana Asti.
The picture was taken by Rocco Talucci at Caio Melisso Theatre in Spoleto during the 56th edition of Festival dei due mondi, where the actress performed in La voce umana (La voix humaine) and Il bell’indifferente (Le bel indifférent) by Jean Cocteau.
Somehow cinema-related… In 1994 Joe McNally took some pictures of Winona Ryder. On her bedside table there’s a Mimosa candle by Diptyque. There’s an Aveda bottle, too, but it’s hard to tell what product was.
