When it comes to the presence of beauty products, accessories, make-up and perfumes in TV shows and movies, the line dividing blatant advertising and the need for props in a production is sometimes very blurred. I personally see it as a form of art, the way in which property masters and set decorators contribute in establishing a certain atmosphere and in expressing the personality of characters.
I first started identifying make-up products in movies and tv shows in 2010: my very first post was about NARS compacts and lip lacquer appearing in Sex and the City S03E07 (Drama Queens)
One year earlier, in 2009, I had spotted NARS lipsticks, Diptyque Olene and much more in the super-busy bathroom cabinet of Sofia Coppola: I guess it was the spark that started the fire
Other ids I did in 2010/2011 include NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Damned, spotted in True Blood S03; NARS eyeshadows and lip lacquers in Anand Tucker’s Shopgirl; NARS lipsticks and compacts in David Frankel’s The Devil Wears Prada; NARS loose powder in Sex and the City S04E02 (The Real Me); NARS lipgloss in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation.
Perfumes seen in movies and TV shows have been largely discussed in perfume forums and blogs; here you will find most of them (properly credited) and others I’ve spotted myself.

Hi. Unfortunately I have never read anything about Simone Signoret wearing a specific perfume. And even the pictures of her in dressing rooms are very scarce. In those I have found there are no beauty products or perfumes. Sorry I can’t be of help 😦
